Question is when I nailed it in manual mode 1st to 2nd it cut out on me. I didnt back off and it finally blasted into second after about 2 secs. It felt the same as the speed limit cut off.(not in this ute) Neighbour was with me, who is a HSV nut. I'm sure he was havn a quiet giggle...Is there a cut off limit for 1st gear in the new 6 speed auto????cheers Johno Edited 21/05/06 08:00 AM by SHOCKXR6T Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/25512-cut-out-from-1st-to-2nd/ Share on other sites

Could it have been this? Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/25512-cut-out-from-1st-to-2nd/#findComment-384310 Share on other sites

At 5000rpm indicated on the tach the engine is close to 6000rpm Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/25512-cut-out-from-1st-to-2nd/#findComment-384382 Share on other sites

Why?- The rev limit will be set higher (if you wish)- The rev limiter will be a "soft" limit. That is, the revs will not cut out but they will stop climbing. Much better than the forehead to the steering wheel cut off you have now. I've got 6sp MAN, it it will cut at around 5850 - 5950 cant be sure I dont really watch it perfectly whilst thumping it so I just shift 5750 everytime, without fail. what gives!
