Driverside Seat Stuffed?

My XR6T has always had the sqeeky sound coming from the drivers seat and I really didn't think much of it. But last night I was travelling into work and as I entered the roundabout, I kind of riggled in my seat. All of a sudden I here the seat give way and end up backwards almost to the rear seat but not quite. So I somehow drive the vehicle till I get to workplace car park to take a closer look at what the hell happened.

I can manouver the electric seat forward motion so as to allign it the the proper position, but I think the hight is a bit low and does not seem to climb up a bit.

However when I sit down in the seat I feel it a bit low and my ass sinks into the seat- It sought of has a sportier feel to it and in actual fact isnt that bad.

Has anyone ever had this happened to them?? I would like to get it fixed but feel Ford will rip me off. So I am thinking of actually living with it- What do you guys Think?? My Car is a Janaury 2003 Mk1 model so I think a warranty job is lapsed by now.

if the car is under warranty, then I would expect it to be fixed by Ford.

I know Cro had a problem with his seat, but it was more too do with it being on a angle because of the way he drives.

Take it to the dealers

That is bizarre, sounds like something has come loose for sure. It might feel "alright" but is something's broke then for safety reasons I would get it fixed at the dealer. They might even replace the seat for you

Will depend on the original purchase date; but at that stage I would assume it wouldn't have been sitting in the yard for a month or two unfortunately for you.

Similar problem, the seat base gives way easily. It's a known problem and mine has been replaced 3 times....
