Hello all

Just a bit of a rant about the NSW RTA. :smilielol:

Not sure if some of you remember but there was a problem with some old Yellow and black NSW numberplates in that the yellow paint they used started to fade and flake off.

So my old man is getting his caravan re registered (Damn slow caravan drivers) and he gets pulled up bout the number plate with the inspector advising to get a replacement.

So my dad goes to the RTA and they charge him for a new plate!!! This stinks in my opinion. Why should he have to pay for something that has stuffed up through no fault of his. :smilielol:

So true, and why don't Ford supply us a new car when the paint starts fading? :smilielol:

Its the same down here in Mexico as well...years ago the old man's EA plates faded, which were green lettering with white background, got pulled up by copper's and had to pay for some newbies....it does suck.... same thing if your plate's get stolen, you pay for the inconvenience... has happened to both my missus and my previous cars.....

I remember the same thing happened on my dads NSW plates, he got a letter from the RTA saying his plates were probably fading and would be replaced free of charge.

...and he got some trendy Sydney 2000 Olympics plates with the same rego number.

Concidreing the plate is owned by the RTA it should be free to have it replaced.

How did the RTA replace your missus? .... where was she stolen from, I have one I want to get rid off. Can anyone suggest any good areas.

When you go to the RTA, can you get a new colour? Mine is currently caucasian however, I would like to try a black one.
