DaRKy...mate are you certain its from the rotors and not the handbrake assembly at the rear which is notorious for rubbing/squeaking. I ran the same combination of DBA slotted and RB74 for a fair while with no squeak before I did the PBR upgrade. Only slight drawback I found was that the RB74s are better for some heat in them which makes the first cold braking a bit hard for the missus. Ultimates cured that.

got the dba4000's and rb74's, only thing is now the squeeking breaks, its sh*tting me to tears, they squeak when your not braking. I tried some antisqeak thing on the rotor didn't do anything, any suggestions ?

brakes are awesome, stop brilliantly. shudders gone but they still fade easily enough

I have wiper slot 4000 series and rb74's. The squeaking you may be hearing could be a heat spot on the rotor. I have a couple ( thanks dynowwog :outahere: ) and they make a squeaking noise, that is much different to the handbrake "shush".

You can try having them machined, but they tend to have trouble getting it out, and it wastes width.

Talking to a couple of people, it seems common after you have braked mighty hard from a decent speed. that's is with DBA 4000's. The RB74 pads are awsome.

Let me know how you go. I just want to know if going to the 4000 is worth it

I was having a few brake dramas so changed the pads to the bendix and they are just great stops in what feels like half the distance than the old pads.

Stopping from 120ks down to 20 or dead stop half a dozen times plus about 10 more 60ks to 0 they fell great.

Will test for brake shudder before changing to dba's Just so I now where im at before going any futher.

Keep you posted  :spoton:

Well people tested the new pads on the weekend, well give them a floggin and they went very well. Went over the sidling from Launceston to Scottsdale for those that dont know it there is around about 10-15ks of winding road through a semi rain forest with moss and wet patches on the road half of it is up hill long straight at the top the other side is down hill, with the old pads I would end up with brake fade and shudder before doing the up hill stuff there fore making all the down hill stuff very slow. But the pads where awsome give it a go along the straight at the top (Saw $2 go past) got a little bit of fade but the next corner they was back to there normal stopping power.

If any one is having trouble with brakes or think they need to stop better the bendix ultimate pads are great.

Makes me shake my head why ford didnt put good pads in to start with.

The down side to these pads I think will be dirty wheels (so what) and pads wearing out sooner (so what) now to put on the DBA'S and see what happens.

Just thought people would like to know!! :crybaby:

Hi all.

I've done a fair bit of searching for this topic on the forums, but most people have upgraded have BA's and not their BF's.

I want to upgrade my front rotors, as mine have developed a nice shudder and I just don't want to machine them over and over.

Unfortunately the DBA 5000 series wont fit with my standard BF PBR 2 piston callipers (unless I get an adapter made up.. which is dodgy yeah?).

The DBA 4000 wiper-slot is a direct replacement for the standard 322mm front BF rotors and I can get them for about $190 each through a relative. The part numbers are DBA 42107SL (left) and DBA 42107SR (right).

So has anyone else with a BF done this upgrade? If so which pads did you also use?

Will the car pull up better with these rotors, or will it just be more resistant to brake fade and warping?

The way I see it, its a relatively cheap upgrade... as opposed to the $1900 355mm RDA slotted rotor and 2 pistol PBR upgrade I was quoted last week! (although a bigger rotor would look a lot nicer... hehe)

I replaced the front discs and pads on my GF's dads BA2 GT which has basically the same brakes as the BF's. I also fitted Ferodo Formula pads.

I did notice more bite, I'd say this was due to the pads, but it also felt nice and smooth under heavy braking. Well worth the investment IMHO.

Any ideas or reccomendations where I can get these from here in Sydney. I only want the front ones on a BF at this stage and a set of Bendix ultimates to match. What should I be looking at to pay and avoiding to be ripped off?

And whats Bendix SRT?? Better?

Thanks heaps

I.B.
