hey guys

gotta get new rotors and pads soon...quick question - I have 6 pot brembos up front of my bf f6 which are a two peice..is there any easy way to tell brand etc? not too sure if they are the factory rotors... car is at 150,000km which is why im thinking they could be DBA's and havent had the wheel off yet for a nosey..thought id check here first

You should be able to pick the brand by the shape of the alloy hat and fastening used, the type of venting in the disc (vane, pillar, 'kangaroo paw') and other distinguishing marks that may be present on the discs, such as thermochromic markings.

More likely than not the discs are in fact DBA. Cross check their website for comparison images.

Thanks for that

I know the previous owner had the "turbo oil feed blocking problem" and had it fixed at an agent of DBA...and to me they look like the 2 peice 5000's but Ill take the wheel off and have a good look this weekend

Would running 4000's on the rear with twin pot be overkill? Was thinking 4000 on rear and 5000 on front...

If you have two piece rotors they are definitely not the original factory rotors.

As for the rears, if they have worn out by all means replace them with the DBA's. I doubt that they would be any more expensive than the factory rotors anyway.

Adding capability to the braking system is not necessarily about the ultimate amount of heat you can pump into the system, rather, it is about how refined the braking system stays when it is under stress. The more immediate, smoother, more powerful, and, the the more linear the braking system remains when it is pushed, the more comfortable and enjoyable the drive.
