Yeah that's fair enough though I got the wheel bearings changed not more than 10,000KMS ago...it tends to only shudder when going down a a long hill at highway speed...dont get me wrong they pull up real good...but there are instances when the shutter is quite evident...

Just ordered these from Hitek brakes in Moorabin. Ph num 0395531160

DBA 4000 Fronts (42107S) = $209 each.

Mentioned to Cam that I was going to list price on forum and he said no problem.

Thanks Steve

Is that the standard size brake? Or the large one?

Will the 42107S fit on the front of a BA with standard BA calipers?

Or do I need to get the 42104

I just had DBA 4000 series, 42107SL and 42107SR for the front and 42108SL and 42108SR, fitted to the car. These are suited to BF XR6 Turbos, just make sure that the disc size is the same... I go them from Race Brakes Sydney for a great price, the URL is below, Matt the guy there was really helpful. $1150 for four rotors, all slotted and the pads... For the pads I had Ferodo DS performance for the front and Ferodo Ultimate for the rears. The brake performance is hugely different and it really inspires confidence when you have some speed on, knowing that you can pull up the car in a good distance.

I put the Ferodo DS in the front end of my FG XRT with standard rotors, the difference to the standard pad is also very impressive, from the point where these things cut out to 80 clicks no problem, oh but you need to upgrade to your brake fluid naturally, I used AP 5.1 Brake fluid otherwise you will boil the standard crap.

Would love some 4 or 6 pots on it, but its a company car and I hand it back in 3 years.

DBA 4000XS rotors - best thing I have ever fitted to my car!

im running with bendix ct's cause my tyre guy recommended them over the ultimates.. I'm open to anything so maybe next month I'll try a pair of ultimates to feel the difference.

so far no squeal, pulling perfect when ya hit her on the ankles.. so happy to get rid of those sh*tty standard rotors!

Guys I put these DBA 4000 Series slotted rotors (fronts) on yesterday allong with a pair of bendix ultimate pads...and I have run them in as suggested on this site...though when I looked at the rotors this morning I noticed a bronze copper glazing over the parts of the disc...

Have any of you guys experienced this with the rotors...im not sure if this normal or if there is something defective in the set up...

Any help on this matter wil be appreciated...

If you have left the car over night it may only be light surface oxide (rusty colour) which would disapear after first brake application. Some pads can put down a transfer layer during the bedding in process, this will dissapear once pads have settled in.

Guys I have had my DBA 4000s with Bendix Ultimate pads set up for around 2 weeks now...This morning I noticed brake shudder when I was braking quite hard on one of the M4 exits...has anyone else experienced this with the same set up?

From whaty I know brake shudder will only get worse with time....

Any advise on what I should do?...(apparently the rotors are covered under warranty for 20,000kms if not used for race purposes...)

One thing you need to understand is that slotted rotors will create a hum/vibration once heat is generated into the rotor. if the noise/vibration you felt is not there when the rotors are cool then that's all the noise is. My DBA car can get quite loud when the brakes are working hard, this is normal. In normal driving they should be very smooth and quiet.

You need to pull the rotors off and have the hubs checked for run out, this can only be performed with a dial indicator. The same process must be done with the rear, some people are unaware that rear rotors can cause brake shudder.

Just got my brakes. Decided I should do something before powercruise.

DBA4504 SL and SR. Fronts only.

Bendix Ultimate pads F & R.

Picked the lot up for $440..

Any special tips? Specific brake fluids etc? Should I do the rear discs at the same time??
