I've got standard BA brakes, anyone know the exact size I would need? Half the time you go to supercrap auto and they can't tell you what size seat covers you need let alone rotor size.

How long ago were you quoted those prices and if possible do you have an email/copy of it?

Just recieved a quote from racebrakes

42107SL/R - $231/ea

42108SL/R - $214.50/ea

$936 in postage

42107XS - $264/ea

42108XS - $247.50/ea

$1068 inc postage

Much more reasonable, but still seems a little much? If anyone can help me get a better price, like the $175 per corner mentioned above, for the DBA4000 slotted (42107 and 42108) I will be very grateful!

Also these are the different sizes of rotors used on the BA and BF.

BA Turbo

Front - 298mm/28mm

Rear - 303mm/16mm

Premium - 325mm/32mm

BF Turbo

Front - 322mm/28mm

Rear - 328mm/26mm

Just called up another Supercheap store and was quoted $280/ea for fronts and $260/ea for rears. Maybe you guys that got quoted $175/ea actually got the DBA4504S and DBA4505S rotors? When I gave them the part number for the BF rotors (DBA42107S and DBA42108S) they rekon (Supercheap) that they are the territory rotors and when I was in at one of the stores a few days ago the 504's came up when they searched using the BF XR6T option.

*Update*

Just called Supercheap again, quoted $190/ea for the DBA5404 Slotted, maybe that's how you guys got them for $175/ea, you got the BA rotors?

The Territory rotors sounds right. that's how I got mine cause everyone kept saying on here the BF's got the territory brakes. And I dont know about BA rotors fitting the BF's, mabe they do but arnt they consideably smaller. You would sort of notice this, though even a BA sized rotor they did fit onto a BA the DBA 4000 would be a marked improvement.

Winstor, try Perth Brake parts again. I recently got dba 4000 slotteds Part No. DBA4504SL/DBA4505SL/DBA4504SR/DBA4505SR for $160.00 each. (3 months ago) Otherwise try Hitech brakes in wangara, thier prices were just as good. Mines an 04 BA.

Ah okay, that's why you got them cheaper nifty, the 4504s and 4505s are 298mm/28mm vented and 303mm/16mm solid rotors as found on the BA XR6Ts not fitted with the premium brake upgrade. The BFs use 42107s and 41208s which are 322mm/28mm vented and 328mm/26mm vented rotors so I'd say that's why there is a price difference.

I am suprised though, that I can get 355mm/32mm Xdrilled and slotted Brembos for the same price as some of the quotes I have recieved for the smaller DBA42107 Xdrilled/Slotted 322mm/28mm rotors.

So who's in for this combo and fitted as well? I'll seek out what the shops can do as a volume break (how many numbers they would need to give us a discount) and what the price would be fitted.

Well, I shall let you know how I go with fitting of DBA 4000 slotted rotors and Race Brakes RB24 pads. I am told that these were the pads that Expensive Daewoo and BMW wanted to use, but because Race Brakes were not big enough like Bendix, Expensive Daewoo and BMW head office wouldn't swing a deal with them. I believe Expensive Daewoo have used them in one off's like for the Hurricane project (whatever that is). Race Brakes make their own pads - so their Aussie designed and manufactured here in Melbourne.

I'm still keen to start a group discount on this - so will let you know how I go and what I think of them. And then maybe we can get a group together to seek a volume discount. Good for you and good for Race Brakes in Melbourne.
