Hmmm, yeah. I was thinking about that when I posted it. Oh well, it's too late to edit it now, so it's there forever!

newayz.

neilsky. if u removed your front muffler, would it sound like what?

oh sorry...theres a lot threads/videos/sound clips here about the removal of the centre muffler and the improvement in the tone from doing so, I was wondering if this is worthwhile doing on my auto....will it make much of a diiference to the tone?

WHat about putting on an XR6 Turbo exhaust from the cat back... wouldn't this give a slightly better note. I know that without extractros it will not give you extra horsepower, but it should sound sweeter...

The phoon lower airbox is $160 delivered from eBay. The filter is approx $140.

RE: Lower Grille mesh.. You can get it from eBay for approx $90 delivered. There's also a company supplying the lower mesh (with or without badge) to most tuners for approx $75. It's spaced exactly the same as the upper grille and is finished in silver or black powder coating.

Don't go through Ford as they also outsource for it and they are charging approx $180.

My Ford lower grill was only $70 from City Ford. Black powder coated with XR in the grill properly done, not just a badge stuck on.

I went to Wonthaggi Ford a few weeks ago and he quoted me $180. He said that it wasn't listed as a part in the computer and he had to ring around to get a price. I then rang Freeway Ford in Cranbourne and he told me $220 with XR badge

I think it may be right that there is no part number for it and the dealers are making whatever profit they can out of it after having to outsource for it.
