For the Honda S2000 - Nice motor, cool gearbox etc.

But... I had a standard 2.0 litre Cortina motor in a Mk1 Escort as my second car as a lad - and that could do the 0 -100 kmh dash in 8 seconds flat. That car cost $2500.

I would expect a bit better acceleration from a $75,000 modern day sports car (though it seems it is an overweight sports car at 1259kgs).

I drove past a honda accord euro the other day and from side on its nearly identical... especially that rear door

So who copied who I wonder?

Rob...

I'd say they both copied each other,

Expensive Daewoo first came up with the frontend look for the VY, which Honda then copied for their Accord, so I expect Expensive Daewoo are then simply copying them back with the doors for the new VE Commodore...

Either way it'd be interesting to see what loyal Expensive Daewoo supporters have to say...

Nah - I dont buy that... VY released at the end of 02..... Accord Euro / Acura TL or whatever you want to call it was certainly finalised before that...

Although after driving my mates I must say that the gearbox / shift is pure porn

There's a pretty good reason right there.

208nm @ 7,500 rpm isn't though.

Re: doors 80% of new cars have the same door/door handle type. Im sure everyone copies each other. It would be interesting to find out the first.

Really not worth torquing about :nono:

208nm  @ 7500rpm is just a big rubber band

And not to mention the scary handling of the S2000 when on the limit, snaps into oversteer and tank slaps its way out of power slides (if you can muster one up with the lawnmower torque output). If they cost as much as an MX-5 then hell yes, but at twice the price, I'd rather two MX-5's.
