hey guys, just out of curiosity I was pretty sure I heard somewhere that the ba2 valve springs were stronger than the ba1? the rumour I heard was that the ba2 actually had ba1 typhoon springs? is they any truth to this?

cheers :crybaby:

The BF has the phoon valve springs, although the MkII valve springs are better than the first Mk1 versions as they could easily go soft, so they were upgraded sometime during the MK1 to avoid this problem, but they are not the same as the Typhoon versions. This is 100% correct.

By upgraded I don't mean they were different, just more a case of making sure that the had the proper specs from the supplier. Some early versions had springs that were softer than they were supposed to be.

Cheers. So if the valve spring springs were better in the ba 2 than in the ba 1s, what sort of rwkw are the ba2s producing on their standard valve springs compared to the ba1s after edited?

Thanx

IMHO valve spring quality is a lucky dip.... you'll soon know if you're lucky after a couple of back to back dyno runs with 10lb or more. Mine carried on like a :spoton:..... installed Performance springs for a fix - result is brilliant. Could not be happier...
