Hey all I just picked up a set of lowered springs for the T and considering fitting thm myself.

What tools are needed for the job? I assume just a set of coil spring compressors?

If this is the case - can anyone lend me a set next week so I can do the job. Am located in Sydney. Will pick up and return.

Mate, for $80 at a suspension joint, I know what I'd be doing.

Drive in and out in an hour :spoton:

I believe the BA/BF needs a specific tool, that isn't a spring compressor, to be able to pull out the springs... I will stand corrected though...

But when I had mine done, I thought I'd fit them myself and I rang Pedders and they advised strongly against it even though I had a spring compressor I still didn't have the correct tools to do the job...

Maybe Pedders lied to me... it wouldn't suprise me...

Flukeyluke - damn straight if I find a suspension joint that will fit them for $80 I will be getting it done there.

But pedders will surely quote $800 so I'll have to dig around.

Anyone in Sydney got a recommended place near Alexandria area?

I done my ute recently with just a normal spring compressor, it done the job but it probably wasnt the right tool for the job (didnt fit the best). But if you dont have access to the tools your probably better off getting some pro's to do it......doesn't take long and you dont have to get your hands dirty

Suspension City in Nth Melb charge that, but being Sydney and the centre of the universe, it could be closer to $800 :spoton:

I did mine with a normal set of spring compressors. sh*t of a job! took me 2 hours.

Try Kennards in Alexandria I think they keep a set. :spoton:

Yeah I did the ute myself and will concur with the above. It is possible with a set of std spring compressors, but it's a b**ch of a job(not THAT bad, but takes a little while). I had a hoist and full mechanic shop at my desposal to.

If you can find somewhere for $80, I'd take it!

Most suspension shops wouldnt be as careful with your car as you would yourself - so - in my opionion, it is worth doing it yourself.
