What tools are needed for the job? I assume just a set of coil spring compressors? If this is the case - can anyone lend me a set next week so I can do the job. Am located in Sydney. Will pick up and return.

Posted 07/05/06 11:06 AM Share Posted 07/05/06 11:06 AM I believe the BA/BF needs a specific tool, that isn't a spring compressor, to be able to pull out the springs... I will stand corrected though...But when I had mine done, I thought I'd fit them myself and I rang Pedders and they advised strongly against it even though I had a spring compressor I still didn't have the correct tools to do the job... Maybe Pedders lied to me... it wouldn't suprise me...Jack

But pedders will surely quote $800 so I'll have to dig around.Anyone in Sydney got a recommended place near Alexandria area?

But if you dont have access to the tools your probably better off getting some pro's to do it......doesn't take long and you dont have to get your hands dirtyShane

It is possible with a set of std spring compressors, but it's a b**ch of a job(not THAT bad, but takes a little while). I had a hoist and full mechanic shop at my desposal to.If you can find somewhere for $80, I'd take it!Chris
