Guest Guests Posted 19/05/06 12:03 AM Share Posted 19/05/06 12:03 AM Bloody XR5TFoMoCo Australia will need to deal with the current issue at the moment, of not being able to meet a supply and demand problem with the XR5 Turbo.25 vehicles, per month, nation wide!!! I'm glad the closest competitior VW (Golf Gti) have an estimated 8 month waiting list, as they too are experiencing supply demand headaches, be a shame for such a good product to be released, but be out done by a sheer availability issue, by a competitior that has the supply problem licked.Darren

FPV have an assessment vehicle and are currently doing a cost benefit analysis to determine if an FPV variant can be done. Apparently the judgment is based on the floor price of the new HSV Astra variant vs the XR5 (ie about $7k), so FPV don't have much to play with. Therefore if a FPV variant was to be realised, it would only be a marginal improvement (and probably largely cosmetic). The engineers have already said.... handles extremely well already, can't improve on that..... already has 18 inch wheels.... only can change the style ..... already comes with excellent brakes ..... damn the Brembos are too expensive !!!Maybe it will come with a FPV "sticker" only ??? CheersRobin.←They could bring in the ST-3 spec and do cosmetic changes (19's and lowered) and maybe whack a bigger intercooler on it and tune it a big higher... that'd do the trick and be very competitive to the HSV VXR... not sure on pricing though It won't happen any time soon... as Darren indicates.. they need to fix supply issues first... there are XR5Ts in AU still.. few and far between... keep an eye out here if your interested. No matter, the AWD Volvo has the exact same engine as the XR5 leading one to believe the ease at which the AWD drivetrain could be implemented into the Ford. I love these cars, I actually walked into two great pairs of 19 y/o breas*s because I had my head craned left coming out of a shop looking at the shiny and I got *beep* slammed from the right. Surely a hotted up one without some form of LSD would torque steer like crazy? If a 16 year old Pintara or 18y/o Pulsar can have a Viscous LSD surely a Focus Turbo could???Lumpy
