I would think that IF the DSC was available on the Mk2 FPV range, they could load the update into the mk1 cars as all the hardware is there to drive the DSC features.

A Ford Factory or FPV Factory update to the ABS/TC system to upgrade it to a DSC system would be a welcome safety move by Ford.

I would be prepared to pay quite a lot for it .

There is a lot to recommend such action to Ford.

A healthy margin, good publicity, improving brand perception, the opportunity for owners to spend money on their pet cars and the opportunity for dealers to make money... and of course a safer fleet of Fords on the road.

However, even if the work required to accomplish this was confined to software, (not hardware) I think there is still the issue of calibrating the software for all the various wheel, gearbox and brake combinations available on the Mk 1 and MkII XR6T's and BAF6's.

Regards,

aa

There is no chance that the BA's would be retrofitted for DSC as the hardware is different, but the BF FPV cars have the hardware, its just not turned on.

If FPV decide to do the calibration witht he MK2's and they have the same brakes and wheels, there there would be no reason why it could not be loaded on the MK1's.

And I-Bomb, I was full aware that my car did not have the DSC, but I also knew that it was capable of having it as the BF XR6T/8 has it standard and this is the donor car. I have also spoken to a FPV engineer that said it's all there just turned off, so thanks for your sarcastic comment :fool:

I just wanted to add the dsc system works a treat.

I was ascending bulli pass and got a lot sideways on a wet spot the car went clunk clunk bang bang and it corrected the sideWAYS and wheelspin so I tried again and same clunk and back into line.

I would have looked like possum without it.
