:msm: Well.......... as promised to me by Titan Ford, when ever a new model comes in They ring me for a test drive....... Was I hanging for this phone call..... I knew it was close but didnt realise it was that close,

The finish.. well lets just say its 100 percent, Interior, guages, everything... PERFECT, only thing I hate on the focus is the indicators wrong side...... The gear shift is a little sloppy for me but its still very direct, The seats... PERFECT..... The car...... Lovely...

Now the important part the engine and power..............Keeping in mind I just jumped out of my 425 rwkw F6...... its kinda hard to get the bumb o meter in check, But it was smooth very strong from 1200 rpm, COmes straight onto boost, feels great.... Only thing I found a little weird... the engine.. sounds like a quietened down rex.. u can hear the 5 cylinder and it sounds........ well different....... Very smooth like I said and very potent...

A modification persons dream, It will be easy to extract power that's for sure....

Only down side.... is supply and demand..... the supply isnt there for the demand.... This one was the new orange... LOOKS FANTASTIC. WELL DONE Ford :msm:

so I take it you give it the thumbs up mate??? that's great. I'm really considering getting one! the misses wants me to sell the T :msm: that won't be happening. I already told her my conditions haha... I sell the T I buy a phoon.. But the xr5 is looking a good option... I might need to wait another year though.. being under 25 insurance is killing me!

will modding it be similar to the T?? edit? injectors? etc etc??

I saw that car at the motorshow the other week!

It is one sweet little car and I love the seats in it!! I sat in a XR6T and then the XR5T and the seats in the XR5T were a lot more supportive and felt a hell of a lot better to sit in!!

I recon they would be a great car to have as a daily. :msm:

I took a black XR5 for a test drive yesterday from Klosters in Newcastle. It had the leather recaro seats and me being a bigger than average guy found them uncomfortable at first.

The car is amazing to drive. It has buckets of grip and is easy to throw around. when you come off the accelerator after accelerating hard it sounds GOOOOOD! I found that boost builds to .9 bar at about 4K and stays constant through to 6.5K. The car is very torquey at about 2.5K all the way up red line.

The back seats are roomy enough to get busy back there.... and the boot is not as big as I would have hoped because of the large muffler box at the back with the dual pipes.

The blinker on the left side of the steering wheel is ungood. will take a bit to get use to when I buy one.

Didnt drive it long enough to get good fuel usage numbers. It seemed that on a spirited drive it would use near the same as the XR6T, but on normal round town driving should be a fair bit less.

A chirp from first to second is very easy and traction control is not very intrusive. I left it on because I couldnt find the off switch.

XR5 do not come with cruise control. Also you cant put the windows up after you have switched the key off.

The Mrs took it for a drive and gave it the thumbs up so it must be chick friendly. She commented on how much power it had.

All in all I dont like it...... I LOVE IT! Could be a way to save a bit of fuel and get driving enjoyment at the same time.

And finally, thanks to the Guys at Klosters for giving me the opertunity to test drive. When I find a hammer to break the piggy bank open I will be there to buy with bells on

Regards

Michael Gigli
