Hey guys, I recently receievd the keys to my BA Mk II turbo with the 6 speed box and it has made me one of the happiest motorists on the road! I have admired the T for some time now, but I never thought I would love it this much.

Anyways, as my first point of call I thought I would replace the exhaust on it, it just seems like a good starting point to make way for other mods; and am currently looking at the 3" difillipo system and was wondering if anyone already had one of these systems or have heard any reports on them?

Cheers

You will get little if any gain from an exhaust change on a standard T.

Good chance you'll get overboost though :spoton:

Have a look at Edit first if you want to mod.

Most people change the cat and remove the centre muffler....seems to get good results once the cars tuned up...

I'd agree with Hiddeous above - the first thing you need to do is get the edit so that if you make significant changes to the exhaust - the computer doesn't go into limp mode.

The stock system is twin 2.5 inch - which has the same cross-sectional area as a single 3.5 inch system - so the stock exhaust PIPES themselves have the ability to flow plenty good. The mufflers have been tested as not being greatly restrictive either so you're best off upgrading the cat to a more free-flowing cat and then upgrading either the mufflers or just the centre muffler.

This should get you over the 300rwkw mark with other mods so it all depends on how far you wish to go.

Twin 2.5", pritty sure they are only twin 2.25"!

anyways agree with every one else unless upgrading to 3.5" don't do it!

3.5" dump, 3.5" cat, middle muffler removed replaced with 3.5" to diff and you sound like a boat out water  but it's a free flowing zorst! :kissmy: that will make plenty of pwr and make you over boost and experience what limp mode feels like every time you tromp it :crybaby: untill you get it tuned!

Cheers for that guys,

I have been talking to my local performance specialist and he was telling me something about some new edit software which is apparently due to come out in the next month or so for the T's, and it is supposed to make more power than the current stuff available. I honestly have no idea what its called but he said its similar to the software they use on the LS1's? Anyone have any ideas what this is? Scuse my ignorance
