Would it be possible to fit the cooler angled back or forward to take some of the height out of it? seems to be all the rage in the jap drift scene and let them fit huge cores in smaller spaces.........give you more surface area for the same size cooler too....

You can go to a certian height. where the cooler starts is where the groove is on the front bay where the licence plate starts. my cooler originaly started straight but it bent back. donno y to much power :kissmy:

its a piss off that the aircon condenser pipes are the way that they are, otherwise it would be alot easier to get a big core behind the front bar.

I am looking at moving the whole radiator/condenser core assembly back towards the engine a little (15mm ) and rewelding.rerouting the aircon lines to make room.

You can cut a little (or bend) the lip on the rear of the bar to make room but you difinately cant take out big chunks out of that bar. It is a structural component.

Nevertheless I think a 600 x 300 x76 core should definately fit, I hope to get the 600x300x100 in there.

Alternatively just rip the whole condenser core out and not worry about aircon

This is the way I intend doing it.

Would you have a pic of the condenser connection mods you did. How did you mod those pipes. Did you reweld them, TIG or some other process.

Also what thickness cooler, 76mm or 100mm. If its 76 do you think you would be able to get a 100mm thick one with a little massaging of the front bar.

Regards

If you guys are cutting chunks out of the bar - why not replace it with some reinforcing above and/or below the intercooler?

not sure what you mean? how would you reinforce it. there isn't a lot of room above and below the cooler.

Isn't the intercooler's effectiveness halved?

Lookes like it's half covered up...
