I took the car back to the dealer in Cairns one morning when things freaked out again. They took it straight in without a booking and the auto-electrician seems to have fixed the problem. It was what "built2redline" said a while ago in this forum. The plug in the ICC unit was not fitted properly. Everything has been OK for a couple of months now so looks like it's fixed. Eehah! Took a while and many visits, denials, funny looks from the dealers ..........gawd I'm so glad it seems to be OK now Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/25008-funny-lectrics/page/2/#findComment-438839 Share on other sites

It's amazing what one little plug can do. When the car was playing up, the air-con wouldn't work, no speedo or tacho, no radio, warning lights on all over the place and even taking off from stationary, the car had a lack of power like you were in second gear instead of first. Not my imagination either cos even the dealer confirmed it when they finally acknowledged there was a problem. Fingers crossed it will stay OK from now!
