Its always stated as a reason in the media, but no one has ever explained the logic behind it (or, if they have, I haven't heard it).

I only wish I could use just one card for everything including my licences, credit and debit cards, medicare, etc etc etc, as I hate carrying around a wallet as with all the cards and licences video cards etc you need to carry around the wallet gets too bulky. maybe one day I can have one key for every door I have to unlock including the car instead of carrying around a bunch of keys with attached remote controls for the car, roller door, house alarm. I can only dream about the day but you never know.

Or if you want the non Bible and ppl fooling friendly version it is called "Verichip" found at www.verichipcorp.com. A national ID card is only a temporary solution and is purely designed to make the transition to the chip a lot easier/acceptable and IMHO is going to go ahead whether we like it or not. (I think we already voted no, in a referendum?)Check this site out if 1. You want to invest in it and get super rich like me, and 2. If you are in any way interested just how far the human all in one tracker/money dispensing device has come and how it is knocking at our very door. I dont think an ID card will make your life any less private.

Unless you can do your monetary transactions with it, as far as I'm concerned a drivers license serves the same purpose.I've served my time in the services recently and I can tell you most of this terrism stuff is inflated with bullsh*t, just so happens we are all pretty gullible, even got me to start off with. Have you ever tried to ascertain how much FTB Family Tax Benefit you are entitled to, have you ever called them up and tried to find out why they just sent you a cheque for over $3k, before you spend it?And if they made a mistake you can’t just send it back, no that’s too hard, you must deposit the check and immediately, that is before it clears send them a cheque for the same amount. Yes they potentially have access to all our personal data from personal medical history to spending habits, however bureaucratic bozos have no idea what they are doing, let alone what were doing. That’s why they have had to introduce a new Medicare card. They believe there a tens of thousands of bogus Medicare identities out there collecting benefits and they cant figure out which is genuine and which is not so they are just going to start again.
