I would consider myself a fussy person in regards to my cars and I am 100% happy with my T despite the fact it has had waranty work caried out. It's already been said but I fail to see what this topic is trying to prove. It sucks that some of you are so un happy with your car's but it's sounding a bit like a broken record.

BB I am sure you have issues with your car, I can understand because my forst Ford was a T and it had its fare share of problems. I think 15 warranty items in total, but I am also a fussy bas*ard. The thing is I worked on the car myself and fixed many of the problems, and then got Ford to fix the rest. At the end of the day the car was almost perfect, aside from the :spoton: diff clunk. The new owner is VERY happy as he has a sorted car.

I think if you spend some time working with Ford and get the problems fixed, you will also be happy.

The biggest problem with this forum is it conserntrates all the problems into a small group and people tend to only post bad things.

As for the "common" problems like shudder, whine and clunk, I would think the percentage of problems is actually quite low (under 10%), again its just amplified here.

My T was my first Ford and now the F6 is the second. I could not find ANYTHING that was remotely clost to the F6 for value/performance and style, so I am prepared to go through a bit of quality problems as a payoff.

So far the F6 is 100x better than the T was :kissmy:

Warranty issues aren't just isolated to Vehicle Manufacturers. We sell the CASE IH Brand and units like our headers can cost in excess of 500K, with only a couple of hours on the clock, sure as sh*t we'll have a mechanic out there doing some sort of work on it. Same would go for John Deere etc. Something as simple as a plastic side panel for one of these things can cost over 5 Grand, happened on just about every one of the 30 odd header sold in WA a couple of Harvests ago and that is just scratching the surface of what costs CNH in warranty

I personally believe that anything built now compared to what was built even a couple of years ago, has increasingly closer tolarances factored into its design/production. Because of this it possibly only takes an equaly smaller amount to go wrong before a part breaks.

Nothing is ever perfect, and if you find something that is, let you missus or tin lids get hold of it and watch it all fall apart at the seams. :spoton:

hey

I have a 2005 ba mk2 ute xr6 turbo and I have never let the dealers touch it.  Nothing wrong yet, but I have only done 6000km thou.  The steering sometimes makes a ticking noise near the steering wheel when changing direction, but I will live will it rather than take it to a dealer.

I had that ticking noise when turning the steering wheel. Mine's got just under 11,000kms on it. Ford Service tightened the screws (said they were loose) on the front end with Loktite and now it does not make the ticking noise. I'd get it checked out because it may lead to something else going awry.
