So Mick is wrong then? :ermm:

Don't know who to believe any more. :spoton:

No, I said his thoughts and opinions are always right, not his driving style. :spoton:

Ive seen evidence of his ambition outweighing his ability.

Auots' are for pussies who can't drive. PERIOD

The fact they blame there inadequate ability on the transmission amazes me.

There is nothing wrong with the fact you can't drive, just don't go blaming it on the T56 ladies.

The fact no-one accepts that a clutch should bite 20mm from the top of the pedal is no suprise, as no-one accepts change, or opinion very well.. ( Even Motor )

A bad tradesman always blames his tools.

Pussies eh!!!:blink: It is 2006 now not 1965 you know?????????? Oh sorry you talking about some other PERIOD? Like Pain????

Get with the times Young fella

I must admit though the clutch on the F6 is the best I’ve ever had and one reason for that is its take-up is 20mm from the top of the pedal not 1/2 way to the floor like most clutches. Being a twin plate which most people are unaware of and never seen, they struggle to come to terms with its operation.

Having to just jab the clutch in an inch only to change is great and a Plus not a negative like most people think. Makes for fast~fast gear changes.

I guess you'd go into a Chinese restaurant drawing attention to your masculinity coz u can use chopsticks?! Knife n fork is superior...just like an auto.

Driving a manual is easy, anyone can do it, but it dont make ye a man. If it floats your boat go for it, Im an old bugger at 32 so the leisure of the auto is the go for me...

Don’t worry about the shirt lifter as he is a married man and you know what they are like?

His Jelly bean Jar is still overflowing and don’t look like diminishing so his testosterone is high and he gets a bit fired up and cheeky..He needs to get a good grip of himself and let that relief valve off :stupid:

The debate is turning as to what's quicker. Not whether the auto is a good box. It is.

I've been with F6_Tornado ( The old bloke a few posts up ) in his ZF. Now the thing IS smooth, and makes easy work of going quick. I like the box..

But the fact is this.

In no form of Motorsport, other than Drag racing is an auto as widely used as any other. Even then, they are mostly manualised. It's also the only form of motorsport where massive power is used, with rapid acceleration, in a straight line.. woopdedoo

I agree, if you just want to go drag racing, get an auto.

I don't care how good an auto box might be, it's never going to be as good around a track ( yes I do track work aswell ) and as a daily driver, well I've never been at the lights when someone in the other lane has stalled an auto up. Plenty of roll-ons etc though..

While this is all based on my own experience with autos' and manuals, that's all good and well for me, isn't it, as it suits my motorsport needs..

My needs differ to others, they might have the 'need' for an auto??

The fact still remains, in the wrong hands, an auto will be slower than a manual, and vice versa.

we're talking about daily driven cars, which do upwards of 150,oookm and decide on a transmission which seperates the two by less than half a second over 400m to 180kph
