hey guys. I was just wondering what little details and changes can be made to a stock BF XR6T. Dad raced it at the drags on the weekend and ended up with times between 14.3 and 14.9. this was his first time out and the car is only a few weeks old.

after that. he took the air filter out and got a 13.85 and a 13.95. one of the other guys (from the beat the heat team of coppers) told him taking it out is good for a bout 2kw.

I was wondering wat other minor changes like that are good for better times and or maybe grip?

we live in darwin so 13.85 from a stock XRT is awesome in our temps.

my other question is about ecu flashing. how useful is that and what sort of results can be expected from that? were thinking about getting that done :P

Is the car an auto or manual?

Some general tips would be:

Drop rear tyre pressure to 20-25psi.

Run with 1/4-1/3 tank of fuel.

Have a water sprayer to spray on intake plenum and intercooler.

Do a 5 sec burnout to heat tyres.

Any other tips will depend on transmission type.

You can do the flash box yourself. It's a great way to get more out of your car. Give Street Tuner a PM, he's the rep for CAPA and get his thoughts on how it will work in NT.

zmit that's an awesome time for a stockie in darwin. I just missed out on the open meet last night and regret not going. From all the meets that I've been to up here I've only seen a few xr6t's run and they were not doing too well. Your 14.3 stock is the fastest I've heard up here, and doing a 13.85 is an awesome effort with just the air filter removed and in a manual. If your going to attend future meets I will definately be there backing you up because I think we need more fast fords up here, especially the BA/BFs. Look forward to seeing your car up in the low 13's maybe 12's, good luck.
