yeh, I agree with what has been said above, mine is a Nizpro stage 2, but I have a 2x2.5 inch exhaust as well, and magic cats,

my auto is stock as well, other then a 2400 stall, so it is possible to run tens with these kits, and the auto might cope so you can run a ten, but just like the Supra auto, you are pushing your luck.

what can be atcheived, does not mean it is going to be reliable at that level,

I have been fortuneit that my auto has held up, and my car only runs around on a 11.6ish tune most of the time, this is to keep it to gether as much as to keep it feeling nice on the road.

but the kit has the potenial to pull one of these heavey cars into the tens with miner extras, and a big tunup. with race fuel and with the car with a bit of wieght taken out, these cars will have the potenial to run a 10.5ish, but I am 'yet' to prove this,

both of these kits are good, and have proven to be able to make it into the tens with other mods

I chose the Nizpro one because I liked the looks of it under the bonnet, with the inlet plenum,

but that is my personal choice,

David

Thanks for the help guys - I understand that when chasing numbers you have to spend the dollars to match - I just thought HPF advertising 10's on their site with that package sounded a little unrealistic :D

Back on topic, who has compared the two combos, or heard of differences/reliability between them? Who seems to have more runs on the board between Nizpro and HPF?

I live up in north Queensland, so Nizpro have not even seen my car,

I fitted the kit my self, and tuned it.

that is what we have to do up here in the sticks,

that is just that they have not had the customer down there that was interested, and dedicated enough to chase a good time at the drags.

that said, Nizpro have made 1265 hp out of one of these, so I don't think they would have trouble with a 340rwkw ten sec car,

when you talk to HPF, in person, they will leave no doubt in your mine that it is not easy to run a ten with that kit, just with some other mods, it is possible, so I think there advertisement is fine.

these kits are more or less boltons, so the reliability is up to the tune, and the owner of the car, and how much he wants to push it.

both can tune a car.

I tend to think that the quality in the Nizpro kit is a lot higher at the end of the day, though its also a little misleading for HPF kit to be advertised as being able to run a 10 with just those mods, because as you can see it just is not possible without the addition of items modified. The worst part is, you would get knobs going to HPF getting that kit and then go out and proclaiming to the world that they have a 10 second T without even running it. :stirthepot:

At the end of the day it depends on what you want to use the car for...

If you want a drag racing machine then you need to start thinking this way from day one. Set the car up to put the power down in a striaght line and scream through the gears...

Everyone chases rwks! What is the use is having it other than frying tyres and winning dyno queen comps? The car with the highest rwkw does not necessarily win every race or product the times down the 400m strip.

If you want a good reliable street car then do not push more than about 300 rwkw. I ran my car a BA MK1 for 50K at this power level. Ran 12.2s consistently. I wanted more and had to pay for it .. these kits will get you there in one jump. Proven products!! But the difference is always the tune !!

If you want a circuit racer ... sorry guys ... the XRs are the wrong car!!

Me I want it all ... I guess I am greedy but I have enjoyed being involved with the development of my car and at the end of the day it is my winter hobbie ... I like the sleeper concept and drive around with a stock looking white XR6 with no Turbo badge.

As long as you are having fun, not breaking the bank (or the law and getting caught) and you are not hurting anyone then go for it ...

Sorry guys I got carried away, Friday arvo need to get the mind off work ... back to the topic, Nizpro or HPF ... I like and use the Nizpro plenum and some of their other goodies as well as some of the secret custom products from Tunehouse...
