Approx how much to toughen the auto up, and is there stronger aftermarket Cv's available?

Back on topic, how much of a difference is there between the two packages?

Cheers,

Ben.

there'd have to be 100 topics on here regarding the pro's/con's of the T auto's, they can be built for bigger power, as with most parts....have a dig thru some older posts...

Nizpro price doesn't include trans rebuild or CVs either. :shifty2:

Different trans builders different prices but $3K seems average from what I've read. And there's no guarantee as such that the trans will actually last. Several forum members have had their trans done at different trans shops and had to have them done again several months later (usually under warranty).

If you visit the sub-forums on this web site you can find write-ups from guys who have installed these kits.

A good street tune provided with these "kits" should allow good drivability and be such that you expect other components to last at least a few years without breaking... maybe slot 2.

If you are a serious drag racer your "race" tune will be set up a lot harder than the base tune set-up that comes with both these kits.

You could set up a race tune tune in slot 1, to be used with race fuel, but don't expect components such as gearboxes (especially the 4-speed), rods (depending on model you have) and cv's to last very long.

The power levels used in such a case would be a lot higher than the base figures quoted.

The reality is that very few people have run a 10 sec pass. Generally a 10 will happen if you use slicks and have had a lot of practice, and dedicated to the cause. I think only a couple of people have done it on MT's.

Very few guys have done sub 12 times on normal street tyres, irrespective of power levels.... and these are high 11s.

The majority of sub 12 times are run with MT tyres.

To new guys on the forum like Mobbzy, don't assume that the Ford experience will be like Supras. Listen to guys like xrdreaming who have been drag racing these cars for 3 years and know what they are talking about.
