Was talking to my tuner on friday,he was installing a wog /Autotechica cooler for a customer. after he pulled the car off the dyno I asked how it went. The reply was it gained 10kw just with the intercooler and had only lost 5 kw after repeated runs. His opinon was there are better coolers out there but none that

are better value for money.

Exactly right 72!

Unless you are chasing 11ty billion kws I think as an upgrade, you cant do much better.

BTW I gained 20 odd rwkws with cooler only.

doesnt matter where you come from the quality of the PWR cooler core is much better than that cheap chinese core, you get what you pay for, cheaper is not always better.

you do get what you paid for we paid for quality and you paid for a reaming!!!!

just relax the pwr is made here in aust but to get the same quality here the wog cooler would be $1300 or so like the rajab which is the best cored bolt in cooler if infact they use the garret core as claimed and as I know them I beleive their claims to be true.

Dynowog, mate I didn't have your number and you pm'd me too late. I went for the Rajab, bolted it in, lost the boost gauge, and didn't notice any difference power or performance wise (not the coolers fault).

333 now has 4" SMB dump and CAT and the Rajab cooler and still pings its head off running 14lb boost on BP 98, so go figure. I think I got another bloody lemon. It's at ford for the week while I'm in Bris Vegas while they try to figure out what the rear end vibration is (the next excuse will be interesting, they'll probably blame the rear view mirror or something) . Then Simon will rip all the Pod filters and crap off it and put the battery back where it should be. I will keep my fleet of company Fords and 013 in Brisbane, but I can't wait to see the end of this sh!tbox

So there you go, bigger intercooler, no difference :stirthepot:

sad to hear your puting it back to std back it off if it pings 300rwkw is still fun!!!

dont want to start an argument, but ive had a good chance to compare a PWR aero 2 and a chinese ebay cooler, quality wise the PWR sh*ts on the chinese cooler, welds are ten times better and the end tanks are actually welded on straight. Ive seen about 5 or 6 of these chinese coolers (not xr6t coolers) which were purchased at different times and the end tanks are all not straight. That aside I cant imagine that effecting perfomance of the cooler. Looking at the contruction of the core itself, there is no comparison. PWR has way more internal surface are equaling better cooling. When comparing the 2 tube and fin items, im not sure if the autotechnica/wog coolers are a bar and plate which makes it a different ball park. Many other factors can be taking into acount with a dyno readout, heat sock in manifolds and stock intercooler pipes will give a false impression of how well the cooler works but however consistantly on 2 cars which I previously built. (76 model toyota celica fitted with a 1ggte both running identical custom steam pipe manifolds and gt2871r 440hp garret turbos and exhaust basiucally everything was the same) I found that the one fitted with the PWR cooler consistantly spooled quicker and came on power a lot stronger. What car was quicker? The car fitted with the PWR core was a by about a 10th. So value for money hell 500 compared to 840 for a result of what im my past expirience is SFA on the street, do the maths the autotechnica/wpg cooler is best value for money. As far as quality goes might be a diff story, its even got me thinking of swaying my decision of using a pwr to a autotechnica cooler. Prob better off ripping out the stock sh*t pipe work and redo the whole lot.

Does any1 have any measurements of pressure drop losses of the autotechnica cooler?

Cheers Adam

there is a thread here on this site from feb/march last year with test results!

as to using diff plumbing well get a different cooler with ofset inlet / outlet it will work better I have tests for those too!!!

but you will need to ring me for them!!!
