I just thought I would express my frustration and see what others have to say about this.

After a year of ownership and modifications to my XR6 Turbo, I have now pretty much decided that I will be getting the rest of my mods done in Melbourne.

Should we really be sending anything to Melbourne in the first place?

I am sick of this :spoton:

When is Sydney going to get with the program and offer some decent tuners/trans specialists.

I have spoken to all of the major players here in Sydney and dropped about $6k in three different shops modding my car. And for what? After 15 runs at WSID 12.8 @ 111mph.

There are guys in Melbourne running a 12.8 with edit only!!

The only way it seems my car will run a consistent & reliable mid 12 second 1/4 here in Sydney is if I spend another $2k. Not only that, if my trans goes like Saleens, I will probably have to rip it out and send it to Melbourne anyway as they dont seem to have the experience with the trans here either.

I just think it is really sad that a city of 4 million plus/ with hundreds of xr6 turbos, loses business to a city that is a 1000k journey to get to.

Now I am aware that there are some fast T's in Sydney, but these guys have spent thousands getting their cars to run a 11 second time. If I payed over $10k on modding mine + slicks I better have an 11 second car.

That being said I am saving my $ and booking my car in at HPF and Kewish to get it right. Then I plan on slapping their sticker on my rear window and kicking some ass here at WSID!!

Sorry Sydney, you just dont come to the party when it comes to all of the important factors when it comes to modding these cars.... 1/4 times, bang for buck, time spent to get things right. If someone would just get their act together, take some time to get things right, show the rest of Australia that they can produce the power/times down the strip they would make a fortune. When I propose this to them, they just laugh and pretend that there isnt a problem with the work they do.

Is it just me that feels this way??? :spoton:

BTW- I think I may be in a bad mood tonight as I was just getting pissed off when I realised what it is going to cost me now to drive to Melbourne when they are predicting $1.40 a litre by Anzac Day. :crybaby:

Fill,

HPF will sort you out. I spent about $3K with them to get my current PB.

I have since spent another $600 and expect to run 2 or 3/10ths quicker still.

HPF produce quick cars.

Go down to Melbourne in the middle of winter, get some M/Ts, run at Calder, you'll drop your ET to a low 12 easy, then go to Kittens.

Then drive back to Sydney a happy man.

I agree with Brian! :spoton:

Seriously though, what you are saying seems pretty spot on. I have a PB of 12.68@109.99 mph. Intercooler and edit only :spoton:

I know that on Sat night Dave and I took his car to Calder. The car was supposed to have 330HPF rwkw's. After we both drove the car to 11.7 @120mph I told Dave the car didn't have 330rwkw's it only had 300rwkw's. We were both pretty unhappy and I asked him if he had flashed it properly, which he said he had. He got Nick to flash it again and the car then ran back to back 11.3's @123mph.

This is the sort of performance you can expect when getting your car tuned in Melbourne. :nono:

Oh and then there's Kittens afterwards.

Geea. :nono:

Surely someone in Sydney can provide this level of tuning aptitude?

What About MRT Rally or Intune Motorsport, MRT have a huge name in Subaru perfomance up here and have the 1/4 mile times to back it up , I am sure they would put there name on the line to acheive the same Level as the HPF guy's.

PS - Why doesn't HPF or nizpro come to Sydney one weekend I am sure there are a lot of guy's who would book in for the tunes?
