Guys I dont think its the injectors giving the bf all that power as the N/A xr6 - xr6t and f6 all run the same injectors.

I believe the reason is that the bfs are running different cam, cat , extra knock sensor and different map to the ba for euro 111 regs.

There ya go, I'm pretty sure that's a complete list of the changes that went into BF output wise. FPV said they lost power initially with Euro III compliance, and it seems that their 'compensations' tipped the scales in the other direction?

Hi SavageD,

Also the BF PCM's independent variable valve timing would have a large impact dont you think?

I believe this feature was also available with edit?

Independent variable cam timing is a BF PCM feature only I have been told.

correct, in the BA models they wernt independant of each other, Now in BF they are.

The fully independant (dual) VCT is on all 6 cylinder BF's, and yes this can be controlled using the very latest version of the edit software as I understand it.

Ford are telling us that this has been made posible on the BF's thanks to the new spanish oak ECU's fitting in BF's. However, the BA Typhoons were supposed to have this feature and were fitted with the Black Oak ECU same as all other BA's.

The hardware is the same, the ECU is the same... :msm:

So is it possible? - well you do the math... :msm:

I would say that the latest tune on my car from Nizpro features much better and considerably smoother response when off boost (ie when running NA) and into the midrange, from the previous map (which was still awesome). As well as a little more midrange power, this has resulted in further fuel economy gains and more comfort when cruising in my tall 5th and 6th gears.

Of course the base Ford map for the BA XR6T doesn't have this capability, and I seem to remember there were some other differences between the BA typhoon and XR6T maps which (from memory...) resulted in erroneous error lights etc being displayed in the XR if a typhoon map was applied... I suspect (I don't know for sure) that a work around for this issue may have been found...

Cheers, :fool:

Ben.

The independent VCT could be fitted to the BA XRT as the hardware is there, it just needs the program. that's the hard part as the program is supposed to be very complicated and I don't think anyone has figured out how to do it via edit yet. Someone will get it eventually, just needs the time and R&D.
