Giday guys.

Just curious how reasonable Ford are with warranty claims with modified cars?

Sorry, im not particularly knowledgable, but is it safe to say that you can get away with and exhaust/intake pretty safely without voiding it?

Im guessing once u play with things like valves/computers/injectors, then u can kiss your warranty good bye.

I've heard a rumour, (it might not be true) that ford can check up the cars statistics through the car's computer and measure average RPM n a few other stats, kinda to see how you've been treating the car... Can that bite you in the arse when it comes to warranty claims?

How have people gone with warranty claims?

Have ford been pretty decent RE: claims?

Kind regards,

J

Resonable?, ford? pfft!

You have to really know a dealer that is willing to help you, if ford know the car is modded then they will try everything to get out of it.

I understand this though, would you guarentee work someone else has done?

If you modify your drivetrain and those modifications contribute to part failure then Ford may not honour the warranty on that part. If you are up front about your mods and be reasonable you may find a sympathetic ear at the service dept.

Btw, exhaust mods would not be near the top of my list if you wanted to mod your car. You should start with edit first, then injectors and throw CAI in there somewhere. that's my opinion.

But surely the extra Kw gained from these mods caused the extra torque on the lid hence causing it to go out of shape.LOL

This is a bit xtreme. I had a front axle seal leaking at 30000 on my old BA. Wonder if I'd chipped it would I still get it replaced for free???
