Paid $42,000 for it (tint, premiun sound, power pedals paint protection 6 stack CD etc etc etc). Put a totally enjoyable 83,500ks on it since then, regularly serviced by one dealer. Car in excellent condition considering the country Ks (few stonechips on bonnet). Lovingly looked after. Went for trade-in on F6 and was offered $17,000 WTF Obviously you dont want my money Mr Ford.... :cussing:

Turbos aren't any better at holding their value. Try selling it privately, you might get 23000 for it if your lucky? What's the list price on carsales? The worst price u will get is on a trade-in. Not sure why youre angry at the dealer, they are merely responding to market forces old chap.I can understand your annoyance but the market determines the price of stuff. In the same car yard they had a older rodeo for sale for $16000 and tried to tell me because it was 4wd it was worth $9000 more, pfft. When I had got my turbo I went back there and the salesman reconised me and said did u sell the car and I told him how much I got

Run out offers are a fact of life that we cant avoid.

I was still sething but now that I've had a Bex and a lie down, I realise I was only venting. Redbook is between 17-19,000, so it looks like a private sale. Sorry for sounding like a spoilt brat but I expected a little more for such a good make of car

Posted 13/04/06 01:33 AM Share Posted 13/04/06 01:33 AM The biggest thing with prices these days is the higher fuel prices are pushing many people with large cars to trade them in on little cheap buzz boxes. This makes it harder for them to off load the larger cars on the used car lot. This in turns reduces the price they will give you for a trade in.IanIn the papers they are saying 10% of people are moving to smaller cars so it will not get any better.
