A few Ba's are getting stray currant(volts in the watar)

this can chew through radiators and heater cores in a mater of weeks.

Sorry mate, its funny hearing someone trying to explain electrical principals. Sounds like someone has been feeding you :pooh:

Entertaining though

ask a radiator joint about stray currant.usualy comes from a bad earth on one or more eletrical curcuits.any more than .5 volts can be a problem.

spoke to our radiator suplier about a stock BA xr8 which had gon through 5 radiators.fixed by fittin a copper core radiator and running earth straps from the radiator to the chassis.

The problem is they are radiator specialists, not electronics technicians. The phenomenon you are thinking of is similar to the way a battery operates, and is caused by 2 different metals in an electrolyte causing erosion (this also can happen on a boat).

Has nothing to do with electrical circuits nearby... and doesnt necessarily get fixed by an earth strap. The best way is to either change the type of metal used (ie same metal all the way through) or by fitting a saccrifical annode

My heater no longer works, I have noticed no other symptoms/problems.  Whats likely to be causing this?

Looks like a service is due...esp since Canbrrrrrrrra winter is due in a few wks.

I currently have the exact same problem and wil DEFINATELY be telling ford in about 2 weeks time when the 30,000k service is due. :spit:

Bizarre I have the exact same problem atm too.. 75K service happening soon for mine though :kissmy:
