Tried a little bit softer spring but it was too soft. Was hard to get on boost with out flooring it to close the BOV. Seems like a touchy operation getting it just right. Is it ok to shorten the hard spring a little by cutting the end off or do I have to keep searching for just the right spring?

I don't really know mate, I just put mine on and that was it.

What sound are you after? Don't forget the auto will never sound as good as a manual and you hardly ever hear it anyway.

I want to get rid of most of the flutter on the easy driving. Not too worried about the rest of it. Probably similar to the way the Bosch one acted would be fine :D

So its only spring changes. You can't adjust the top of the BOV by screwing it in or out to change the spring tension?

Not on this one. I could have spent the extra $50 and got the adjustable one...but $50 is a fishing trip...or a couple a dozen piss. I might try squashing the spring down or something to that effect. At least it's holding the power well and coming on good. It's only a matter of time 'till I get pulled over like it is though.

It's wierd I swear mine runs a tiny bit better with it blocked, even though it shouldn't. I know there's fark all lag with an auto anyway but still.

I think you might be onto something. I noticed a performance improvement with the stronger spring in the new BOV over the standard Bosch one. I guess pressure in the plenum isn't required to help close the BOV and the IC and piping are already full of lightly pressurized air waiting for the butterfly to open...

The Bosch one was bleeding air off at idle and on light deceleration so this would have stopped line pressure from being maintained I guess...

Just curious as to what everyone thinks but if you have blocked your stock bov so it flutters that's not illegal like a vented bov is it? Even though it make a sound?
