At about 4:30 pm we decided to head out. The car was fitted with a set of Mickey Thompson ET tyres, Dave and I jumped in and out we went. The car is unchanged from the day-to-day tune that was in it. Full exhaust, cat the lot. At present in street trim it makes 418 rwkws and I haven’t checked the tune since Dave ran it on the dyno day, that day Dave had played with it a little and it had made 446 I think. We believed its MPH would be good as the last time we had run it, it ran 131mph with the auto and at that stage we still had a problem with the edit software shutting the VCT down at 6000rpm which was also 131 mph in 4th gear so we believed it properly had an extra few mph in it. Power is still the same within 10 rwkws, the weight is 18 kgs heavier than the last time we ran it. I was quietly confident that it would run an 11 second pass how far into the 11s I wasn’t sure, maybe 11.30s I thought was possible at 130 plus mph. The first pass I left the line at 4500 rpm and it nearly stalled the engine, 60 foot 2.69 seconds.13.0 at 124mph The second pass 5500 rpm launch bogged 2.0/ 60/ 12.2 @124.00 3rd pass 6500 rpm 2.19/ 60 /11.91 @ 124 mph I sightly slipped the clutch on this launch it still bogged a little at first and then axle trapped a bit. 4th pass 7000rpm slipped the clutch again, bogged again and then lots of axle tramp and at the end of the run had a wheel bearing noise coming from the back of the car. Bent diff housing. So that was the end of that. I don’t believe we would have gone any faster anyway, 11.91 was it and a fair bit slower than I had expected. The car was a massive 12 mph slower to half track than when it had the auto and the auto still had a standard torque converter and yet the 60 foot times were similar. So this would now be a good argument against the guys that say rwkws are meaningless unless you prove it at the track. Same car, same engine, same power, same rear-end , different trans and 7 mph and 1 second slower. So If you need to know how much power you are making, dyno it. If you want to know how fast it goes down the track, race it, because the two are complete worlds apart. I can tell you right now the Ute drives past the Territory on the road like its standing still and yet the Territory is still faster over the standing 400 meters, it has less power and weighs more. Drag racing is all about the efficiency of delivering the power you have availably to the ground and it certainly now has been proven that an auto T does that much better that a manual, all other things being equal. It also now shows that certain styles of transmissions and different styles of auto have an advantage over others so the hole prove how much power you have by dragging it argument disappears out the window. BCL mentions it's a 6psd in his post, although the ratio question is a good one. The fact the auto got changed out, the ratio either got left alone or replaced, and I doubt a 3.73 would have gone back in?? Oh, when's BCLs' car going to run down the strip for us. If there is only going to 1 manual sedan to run a 10, it's his.←Ford 6 speed manual; it's a BA still got the 3.46, so maybe no need to change into 5th, which can make a noticeable difference. It should probably get to around 130-135mph at 6500 revs in 4th, (but beyond maximum torque point) so you get caught having to make the decision of whether or not to change up or not. If you decide to change up in the last 30 metres it stuffs up the time and the MPH.My car will go down Calder after Simon gets the Edit working with it.MPH should be good, how it launches may be another matter. Brian←Brian ive seen your car try and launch....... with that bloody triple plate clutch..... it will be a mission to launch that sucker.←I would love to see what Brian's car could do down the strip with an auto in it. Any plany to possibly drop one in for a quick blast down the strip? :pulease:

My BF XL LPG Ute with a full tank of gas weighs exactly the same as my sedan? Doubt the F6 weighs any more than 20-30kgs over the sedan.
