Well as the title suggests .... what sort of fuel consumption are most of you guys getting with ~ 280-300 rwkw ??

my brothers got an LS1 with 290rwkw, babying the car around sees around 20 ltrs/100km but as soon as you begin to punish the car .... you see figures of 30-35ltrs/100km :spoton:

just wanted to know how the ford turbos go in comparison to the LS1

One tune delivered 13.9/14.2. That's average over a few weeks.

New tune, 14.5/15.5 average over a few weeks.

Doing a bit more flogging around lately. Both averages included going to the drags.

What mods have been done to the LS1???

Sounds to me like a tuning issue.

My LS1 used to get around 17L/100kms all city driving, that was with the Turbo (380rwkw). It used to get around 20L/100kms all city driving with Cam only (300rwkw).

I have seen Ford Turbos get anywhere from 14L/100kms to 18L/100kms city driving.

interesting, di fllipo exhaust and extractors, edit, and a pretty big cam (232/232).

the 30L/100k is achieved whilst constant redline changes to speeds of close 2 200k :blush:

was tuned at HPF by Rob himself. its a VY SS II

that's not a big cam.....if he thrashes it then of course it will use fuel, I wouldnt expect it would be a tuning problem if HPF did it, they have runs on the board with LS1s.

Sounds like a problem with the right foot to me and if he is doing those speeds on public roads.....a wake up call might be in order :fool:

private roads ofcourse....

but anyways, was just wanting to know if the ford turbos do push out high fuel consumption figures whilst making big power.

thanks :blush:

With about 280rwkw's I consistently get between 400 and 450k's a tank from 60 litres.

Fuel economy has not really suffered as a result of more power.
