Cheers & its a good idea you have done.←Dont need an aftermarket deck to get great sounds.Come and here my Factory deck which is running off a 2x12inch subs, and then let me know if u can here the boom or not!! I am going to upgrade the subs in my T soon but I tend to prefer infinate baffle loading , firing the sub through the fold down seats and using the boot as your box. this type of loading with a good speaker will give much better sound quality so long as the volume of the boot is more than 4 times the VAS of the driver and there is a reasonably good seal between the boot and cabin. In my home theatre I have 4 15" drivers mounted in the roof firing through air con grills into room, sounds awesome.
Goobz Member 746 Member For: 20y 4m 20d Location: Sutherland Shire, Sydney Posted 07/04/06 12:42 PM Share Posted 07/04/06 12:42 PM FYI the sub box is about 48l, it has 2 50mm ports which are 78mm long it is tuned to 32Hz and the port have a coefficient less than 0.15 so they don’t whistle. The port size and length will be different for every woofer.←Ok then. Well that just went straight over my head!!! Does anyone want to explain how I could build something like this myself without having to measure all that or is there somewhere I can get a program to work it out? I am good with the tools. Just not with the coefficient of ported hertz tuning! Does the sub you buy tell you what you need or do you need to work it out?Chris

Does the sub you buy tell you what you need or do you need to work it out?←a program called bass box pro is what you need when you buy the woofer it will (should) come with a data sheet. punch the numbers into bass box pro and it will spit out all the data you need to build a perfect box for your subby. You can also change the shape of the box and bass box pro will adapt port size and length to suit.

joostenjohn60 Member 16 Member For: 19y 12d Posted 08/04/06 08:38 AM Share Posted 08/04/06 08:38 AM Just tell me what sub you are going to use and I will do the calculations for u. you can then work out the shape all you have to do is keep the volume the same . also state whether you want sound quality or just plain decibels as it requires different type of box. john
