First Trip To Wsid

Steve when I raced at WSID I had 328rwkw's with an XEDE only tune. this was 12th Jan 2005. The car had just driven up from Melbourne and I was using my Nitto's which are no where near as good as the MT ET Streets. The air temp was 29C. My best run was 12.23@119.91mph with a 1.995 60'.

That was a very tough night and an exception to the norm.

I ran my STi that night for the first time for 12.3s on stock street tires.

The real point here is that the guys with the APS phase 2 cars that normally run mid 12s were running 13s that night.

So I believe that Craig would run a 11.8s easily under better conditions in that trim.

Care needs to be taken not to read too much into 1 outing.

I'll have a chat with Deano, Dave, Rob and the rest of the guys that run quick down here. I'll see if we can organise a trip up there to have a run. The only issue I have is that if I run a 10sec pass first up, which I probably will, I'll only have 1 run. A 1800km round trip for 1 run isn't much fun.

I was there that night too, and it may have been 29deg c but it felt like 39, man it was hot and dry, no fun at all.

My first ever trip to the drags and my Home tuned, xede, injectors and second CAI only, UTE ran a 13.09 at 110.9 mph, later dynoed at 242rwkw.

ute had towbar, sports bar, cover, spare etc etc and 120kg of me in it, so I was pretty happy.

there were three other PH 2 cars there that all ran 13.2-13.3 with the same MPH as me

Hey a mate happened to be there with video. If I work out how to convert it onto pc ill have a crack and upload it. For guys that have done this all I need is firewire port and xp to do this yeah ? See how I go, any luck it will be up tonight, a slow 12.8 run

Question for Geea and Eugene.. You guys are running both edit and xede together, what hardware do you use to control boost, the edit or the xede ? I might do the edit at tax time. What else causes overboost, I have changed the actuator but seems im still having this problem..

Unlike yourself I dont think a 13 sec car is anything special and could'nt be botherd looking for a timeslip but the runs where witnessed by other forum members and dont need to prove it unlike yourself who holds NO credibility

BTW, the orange car of C&V ran 10s pass with unichiped XR6T at WSID.

Lets get that in prespective for a minute,that was the tuners OWN car raced by pro driver over two years ago that was a once only pass and never done again yet has been beaten by up to 10 times by privately owned Edited T's

Ist of all you cant Stooge a Hunter because we know better than what somebody invoices you to believe,2nd of all NOBODY I mean NOBODY has spent $30+k on a xr6t and only run a 12.6 and still thinks that they have the best available tuning device on the market

In the past I have used both edit and xede to do the tuning on my car. I recently had an edit only tune done for my road map this is by far the best road tune I've ever had. My edit only tune is 332rwkw's which is alot higher than my previous road tune of 310rwkw's and also higher than my old 328rwkw octane booster tune. Both the 310 and 328 where almost all xede with a little edit on torque protection and the like. My current tune is so much better it's like a different car.

I currently have 2 tunes in the car the 332rwkw tune with the xede set to all 0's and I have a lower boost tune of 303rwkw's. The 303 map uses the xede to turn down boost only. Have a look at the dyno to see the 2 tunes.

In the past I have used both edit and xede to do the tuning on my car. I recently had an edit only tune done for my road map this is by far the best road tune I've ever had. My edit only tune is 332rwkw's which is alot higher than my previous road tune of 310rwkw's and also higher than my old 328rwkw octane booster tune. Sort of mate, did you ever have any overboost problems with the xede contolling the boost ? Can you still use your xede switch to change the maps if they are all edit, rather than having to stop and flash in another tune using the flasher ?

Nah I never had any overboost problems with my Xede tunes. I can still switch between my low and high boost maps with the xede switch. The 2 maps you see on the dyno are the same edit map with the xede taking boost out of the lower rwkw one.

There is a big difference between an editted car and a chipped car when it comes to racing. With the edit your able to take out alot of the protections that slows the car down when racing.

The edit allows you to increase the stall speed and change parameters in the ecu that reduce power to the engine when safety levels have been exceeded. Having said that, these safetly levels aren't always exceeded when racing - likewise on the street. APS have proved that when running 127mph times, as did C&V with their 10 second pass.

Stalling up the converter is beneficial for reducing ETs and the edit is great for this.

Saying one car has X amount of power and this is greater than another car with the same state of tune just because of power inhibiters which affect the car some of the time, isn't accurate.
