Nice to meet ya too Fill. I had some boost spiking issues that led to 3 out of my 4 runs crossing the line in limp mode, as every time during the 2-3 gear change I was hitting boost cut. Only run I actually finished was by backing of during the 2-3 change to avoid the cut and ran 12.8 at 114mph. Considering my last outing I ran 12.5 at 112 I no my car will be low 12's next time with the boost issue sorted. Fill your car if it has a true 280rwkw should easily pull a 12 as others have said. But the mph does seem a little low for that power, I ran 13.3 with 245rwkw at 108mph. Im running a chip but with relatively the same power an edit car would be quicker.Try getting your car dynoed at another place to confirm your power, just to be sure.Brad.←Brad, who's tuning your car? 295rwkw's should be pulling 11's when you get the limp mode issue sorted. What tyres are you using, it helps alot if you're using good rubber.Geea. ←Craig Spiro is tuning my car, but I have had ongoing boost spiking issues before. I think its the exed having trouble controlling it, on the dyno its fine. Tyres were still the stockies tonight mate, dunlop 17's, but wouldnt have mattered anyway with the probs mid track. Once my probs are fixed im gonna look at some slicks, sub 2 second 60's would be a nice change.

The MPH would indicate around 245-250rwkw's. The only thing that could be wrong is if the tune is very peaky and has no power down low. With what you've told us it sounds like you need to get a better custom tune. Who has tuned the car so far?Geea. here you go. What do you think? My tune was done here in Sydney by a reputable shop that seems to have quite a bit of experience tuning T's. I have spoken with them today about the results of the tune. They want me to drop the car off for a day so they can see what is up. That is all good, I am just afraid I know what the answer is going to be... just give us some more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and that will fix the problem. I don't want to expose who they are because they desearve a chance to fix the problem before they get a bad rap. With 255rwkw's I was running 12.7@111mph and with 281rwkw's I was running 12.2@115mph. These were all with factory dunlop 17" tyres. With 279rwkw's regardless of tyres or ET you should be running a minimum of 113-114mph and upto 115-116mph. The 107mph that you are running would equate to around 245rwkw's and you did it consistantly aswell not just the one run. With the mods you have you should be running 115mph easy, if your current tuner can't make this happen with no cost to you then I'd be changing tuners. Might be an idea to come down to the BVW2 and see HPF or Nizpro.Geea.

My first comment is that more than likely its a bad dyno reading... That being said ask some of the pro racers out at WSID if they think the tracks slower mid week Oh side note and not meant to start a chip/edit war had enough of that crap already but there has been a 10sec unijip (C&V) as you call it Daboss.RegardsM G

With all the mods done to his car, the power claimed is what you would expect though wouldnt you?

If so this would explain some difference in ET as you get less time before the timer starts...might be completely misguided though...cheers,Ben.← all are the same in the timming light set upRob
fill Member 127 Member For: 19y 5m 6d Location: Sydney Posted 06/04/06 11:14 AM Author Share Posted 06/04/06 11:14 AM (edited) Fill did you run with Traction control and AC off?←I was going to go back and edit my post as I was sure someone would ask this! The answer is no, neither the traction control or A/C was on. I have a custom cat as part of the full exhaust system but have not replaced valve springs or actuator. I was planning on that (and saving) for my next mods.... valve springs, actuator, fuel pump and 300rwkw tuned in Melbourne while down for the BVW2.Just on another note, I had the car tuned to 270rwkw about 6 months ago when I did the initial edit, exhaust, injectors. This was done by a different tuner than the one that has most recently tuned the car. The dyno attached is the original tune. This kind of demonstrates that my car is putting out more than 270rwkw and should be getting better times/speed on the 1/4 mile just based on power and other peoples times and speeds.I then added the 2nd (typhoon) cold air intake and wog intercooler myself a few weeks ago and wanted the car tuned for these mods. That brings me to my current tune. An extra 9rwkw on top of my original tune by adding 2nd CAI & intercooler. What I am thinking at the moment is I have spent near $5k on modding the car in Sydney just to get a low 13, when all I really needed was a decent custom tune from a decent tuner to get me a 12 second car. Finally, I find this interesting. Chopper is running very similar mods to mine except for chip vs edit and he has done the fuel pump. (and removed the back seat!! just kidding chopper) On the same night on the same track he was running a 12.8 vs my 13.2. He also has 290 or so rwkw and I am only getting 279. WTF. I am soon going to decide the best advice for people is that if you live in Melbourne get your car edited, if you live in Sydney get it chipped.
