markxr6t Member 476 Member For: 20y 2m 3d Location: Perth WA Posted 06/04/06 12:16 PM Share Posted 06/04/06 12:16 PM PM JB - I think I recall he ran a 13.2 before breaking an axle with 305 rwkw. Geea would also know.If turbocorty ran a 13.2 in his stock 6 spd Phoon (say 220 - 240 rwkw), you should get close. Not with your current clutch, but. Like it doesn't know what to do.. Almost like it was too quick for it's own good.As for why I don't flat change.. well there's no need. The only thing it gains is to burn the face of the clutch. Sometimes the 3-4 change is a bit quick, and the clutch 'slides'. Not a fan of it really. As it is, if you see my vid at the drags, if the gear gets missed, or It won't select, I'm back on the gas so quick I can't register the gear isn't in. Rev city.I hate the sound of an engine free revving to 6800rpm................. Also, When changing at lower rpm, it becaomes ALOT easier on the syncros to do there job. When you rev to a kazillion rpm, especially in 1st gear, getting it into 2nd fast is a nightmare. Dropping the revs can get you into second a hell of alot quicker. Snowball effect. All my times of getting to 60mph in 4.0 seconds are done with 2 gear changes.

For some reason these T's keep revving when you miss a gear and make you look like a real di(k. I was just driving home then and was booting it and suddenly realised I wasn't dropping below 4000rpm after gear changes. I'm probably missing out on some torque by doing this. My peak power in 4th is at 157km/h so I just hit peak power when I cross the 1/4 mile.

This is where your car has the most 'grunt'Peak power is a product of rpm, correct me if I'm wrong??
