Hi all

Been reading through the posts for the last 6 months or so, first post though. Cheers to all for good tips, and lookin forward to a WA drive soon!

Anywho, onto my question. Purchased an ex-demo 2004 XR6T ute from Adelaide almost a year ago, and all the papers say that it is a mkII. Thing is, it has a 5 speed manual and no mkII badges...so I am a little suss.

What's the best way to determine for sure what it is? And if it is a mkI, I guess I will have to ask that the dealer swap it for a mkII.

Cheers!

-T.

I have a mk2 (early one) and it has the extra air vents, I think they must have dropped off at a later time.

Also check the wheels - Mk1 are sunken in the middle of the spokes, Mk2 are raised in the middle.

As far as I was aware MK1 XR manuals all had 5 speed, Mk2 XR6 had 5, and Mk2 XR6T and XR8 have 6 speed.

Sounds like you have a Mk1 that slipped through at the last minute and got registered as a Mk2.

mark2 has armrest that comes downin the back seat, also has auto off lights feature, as mentioned mk2 wil have the different rims to the mk1 if on papers it says mk2 I dont think how long you have had it makes a difference Ford are bound to sell you the product specified in your paperwork.

Oct was the last of the Mark 1's

It will have Auto Headlights if its a Mark II...

If you ordered a Mark II then that's what you should have gotten, otherwise it could have been an error on their part...

Did you get a good price?

A couple of points:

1. The car was an ex-demo - so wasnt ordered as a new car (could have even been ex-demo and second hand?)

2. Utes dont normally have backseats

3. Auto lights on - utes? I know eg they didnt have illuminated window switches on utes - so maybe not lights on?

I would have thought the deciding factors - wheels, 6 speed manual.

No idea what your grounds of replacement would be like - slim I would have guessed.
