Lucky for me it's on a company card, but my guess is $1.60 cpl coming within 6 weeks and even higher if Iran gets angrier in coming months. You spend this money on modifying the car to go 'better' and when you want to hit it to 70kph, it's a dawdle.. Good for trips away when the audible speed limmiter is in the passenger seat, but it's too much of a cringe fest otherwise......................... We all know the price sores on long weekends, xmas holidays etc. This is because more of us travel and the oppertunity to make big profits by the oil companies pops up.What peeves me is that the oil giant Exxon/Mobil made the worlds all time biggest clear profit in 2005 of US$85 billon, I think that's 85,000,000,000 but no doubt I'll be corrected. I ask that on the back of such high petrol prices and the fact that this company made the worlds biggest profit, are they looking after us? Obviously not in the slightest! Could they have made $40 billon profit in 2005 and be satisfied with that? I dont know. And what would have reducing there profits done for us, probably very little. Some of you out there are accountants and no more about this than I do.

By the government and the oil companies.

Well probably the GST winfall they get each year as the price of petrol goes up and up. The more we spend on petrol the more GST revenue that is generated. It was funny how a few years ago we pushed to the psychological barrier of $1 a litre and we got used to this as the years went on. Now we are again being tested at the $1.35 mark and will we all get use to it, most likely. Then the next barrier will be $1.50 and so on.They have got us good!!!
