About 6am this morning on the way home from work petrol prices were being advertised at $1.14L here in Sydney. I sleep through the day and wake up this arvo to find I need some juice and its at $1.35 and I use premium so it went to $1.43.

I only ask, what has happened in the world for it to shoot up 30cents in 6 hours???

Did the stuff just all of a sudden run out!!!!!!!!!!

20 cents :)

The place you went to must have just been refilled from the depot.

Yeah I mean 20cents, sorry the typing was never the best. About 8 petrol stations from Kogarah to Sutherland all showed this higher price. If it was one station I would think it got new supplies but the big 3, Mobil, Caltex and Shell all showed the big price.

So why do we put up with it????????

I was suprised how cheap it was yesterday, and have been suprised for the last couple of months how expensive it is on wednesdays.

Tuesday morning does seem to be one of the better times to buy your fuel.

It cracks me up when people complain about petrol prices. The Federal Government got involved 6 months ago with regards to price fixing and when prices where over $1.20 and sure enough we saw them fall back to 90c-$1.00. The minute they went over that everyone was b**ching about the extra $3 it cost to fill the tank.

What nobody realised was that it was all about price conditioning. They get us used to the high prices, so when they put them 'down' to much more than what they where before the rediculous price rise we feel that's it cheap.

Now the prices have crept up to $1.40 (or $1.10 here in QLD) and not one person has said a word. Not even the Government! Whats the deal? Do we rally care as the consumer, or will we all fire up again when someone takes the plunge and has a b**ch about it to some one who cares.

BTW: We are prepared to pay $2.20 for 600ml of coke (that's over $3 a litre) and no one is complaining...

I think we all buy petrol more than we buy coke. I know I dont drink 65litres of coke each week.

Im not on here complaining. I asked my question on here and that was for someone to inform me why petrol prices jumped so much. Nothing more and nothing less.
