Hey guy i shave and aps exhaust on my ute that in purchased in may last year and ive noticed a drop in power lately so after talking with Simon from Xtreme we started having a look around to find the cause and have fround the cat has collasped internally blocking aprox 30% of the cat.

do you guys think i have resonable claim with APS for waranty on a cat thats less then a year old?

it a bit of a poor quality photo because i took it with my phone but you can see how the mesh has pulled away from the can and compressed around the edges.

i have contacted APS and there dealer here in perth an im patiently awating there reply...

You shave and APS exhaust? :crybaby:

Anyways, I think you best get on to APS themselves and demand some things. Only problem is they will most likely replace it, and it will do the same thing within 12 months. Sounds like the same problem a few people have had wih them, the heat changes causing a break down in the material inside the cat.

Have you spoken to anyone at APS?

I would be guessing that if you have one of their cats, but an edit or a tune from someone else for example - that they will/could blame the tune for excessive heat causing the cat failure?

ie as Ford would?

Good luck with the replacement - hopefully they will give you a new one.

I've only heard of one failing. All the units I know of have been tuned properly so ETGs should not cause the cat to collapse. The cat costs money because it's the best you can buy for the XR6T, IMO.

The other two cats that where stuffed are of Jnr's T who has the Aps phase 3 kit tuned by Autotech but now is a C&V edited car and the other is Eugene's T,So I would say that make's 3 failed cats :nono:
