Might also be worth looking at the S/C kits out for the BA 6cly. CAPA have a kit for 6k that makes 230rwkw on the standard NA engine!

:slap:

If I was going to do anything to an NA this would be it

But I still recomend going a T to start with :spoton:

I can afford an xr6t to buy outright. that's not the issue. I was driving around in a VL for a year and was gonna spend a sh*tload on that but I'd like something nicer and newer..

Buy the T and drive it on your P's. Suck it and see. Remove the turbo badges and don't put up P plates...If you don't act like a dick your chances of getting caught are slim. What's the penalty?

..........or you can just buy a T ute and chuck a few scrags .......I mean bags of cement in the back! This should fix the power to weight ratio!?!?!

If you really want a bombed XR6 Turbo, I.e, bigger turbo, tubular manifold, bigger exhaust, bigger intercooler, stronger rods and pistons for big power then just convert the N/A into turbo.

If you just want up to 250rwkw then just get a factory XR6T.

Yeah it will eventually be at around the 300-350rwkw mark. I spoke to Vicroads and if I drop a T motor in I have to notify and insurance them and it will class the car as illegal. So I'll be turbo'ing the N/A, if the conversion is too much messing around or time consuming as I will need it for uni next year and I'll be buying the car mid-late this year... If it is I will probably buy an S15 200sx and wait til I'm off my p's and get my T.

I think it'd be easier to buy a T and take the badge off. Drive it sensibly and the cops won't think anything of it and it will achieve the same outcome as fitting a turbo to an na, with a less hassles and a lower cost. That said, I'd be checking out insurance before getting to carried away. Ford build them so you don't have to, and besides, the factory put much more into these engines than meets the eyes.
