I had my local dealer check out my diff about 4 weeks ago in response to a whine at 90km/h (common BA fault) and an occasional clunk...

They immediately ordered a replacement diff and it arrived on Friday (had to be built I was told).

I thought I would mention the undersize front rotors and also the lack of meat on the front pads (bought the car about two months ago with premium brakes and 60k kms on the clock).

They phoned to say that they will be replacing the rotors and pads under warranty (used car warranty I assume) and whilst they were replacing the diff they had also found that a bush was worn out and asked if they could keep the car till Monday to also replace this.

More than happy, just have to drive the loan Focus all weekend!! :pooh:

Brilliant result for you there mate!

Got to be happy with that, I think it's all how you approach the situation with the dealer involved... and a bit of luck that you find someone who is simpathetic to the cause...

Good to hear a positive experience from a member with regards to warranty.

Let us know how you go with that diff, still waiting for mine to arrive.

As for warranty work, the worst part of the ordeal is having to drive a Focus around, haha. I turned up to work with it and a rumour started that I might have been demoted :pooh:

The T feels like a Bentley when you get back in :pooh:

Picked the car up on Monday, Diff is excellent, I didn't know it was so bad!! When I use SSS it is silky smooth....

Whilst there I mentioned the whine in first gear, after a test drive and a call to ION a replacement gearset is on the way!

Very Happy Again!!!

geez that is a good service. I went in last week for the whine in 1st gear and when I picked it up they said all is fine as we have reset the pcm.

geez that was good, so I got in the car and whiiiiine in 1st gear. good job they did . anyway I will go back and get this fixed.

good to hear your warranty gets done first time and you do not have to go back. I wish they were all like this.

Good on you mate.

May I ask what dealer you deal with and sales person?

Regards

Adrian

XRBrett: Can you please provide dealers details?

My dealer is Lane Ford at Mandurah, they may be looking after me better than normal as I did originally buy the car from them..
