Did the carpark have any security cameras? A mate of mine had his car side swiped in a multi-storey carpark and the security camera's caught it happening including a good photo of his rego as he was leaving the carpark. My mate's insurance company caught up with the culprit.

I don't mean to take anything away from your incident, man, your's is bad. But I've only had my car almost 5 months and I have door dings on both sides. I just don't understand what makes an idiot who knows the carparking spot is close, to swing open his door and - bang - hit the car next to 'em without so much as a second thought. I'm always making sure I respect the other persons car as much as mine when I open the doors.

However, thankfully, last time someone did something to my Toyota (long time ago) just like your's, they left a note on the windscreen. I was pretty damn amazed that they really left a note with their name and telephone number!

from what I see on pretty much a daily basis it is when there is a large enough gap to give them plenty of room to open the door wide and then hit it as there getting out (because they arent holding it to stop it hitting your car) that it happens and not when you are ultra close.

Obviously ignorance cant be educated, so maybe we should try another angle and get the manufacturers to put sliding doors on all vehicles :stirthepot:

On a serious note, I have witnessed people smashing there door against the car next to them and just cant help myself but to give them a tongue lashing.

I tell them how lucky they are its not MY car and should there be any damage I will personally leave a note on there behalf with there rego number. :spit:
