It will be interesting to see what the results are....

I have access to a dyno. I might jump on with a tank full of this stuff in the next few days (if I have a chance) and without changing anything at all, post the before and after AFR's?

I dont expect to see power jump that much without altering the state of tune, beacuse I think the advantage with E10 will be the amount of timing it will be able to support over Ultimate 98. However I do think it will run leaner....

However he did state in the article that cars already tuned close to the edge will run LEANER by just adding to the tank. I think I'm going to use this stuff when mine is re-tuned in a couple of weeks. See how it goes.

Are you sure he said leaner?  As ethanol or alcohol blended fuels have more oxygen content(since the extra OH strand) which means they carry their own oxygen into the combustion process meaning that AFR's will be richer.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I think you got is ass-backwards - if there is be fuel left over after combustion, this is running rich, less fuel means lean.

Right, well it Looks like no tuners are willing to touch this with a 10 foot pole.....

I tried some of the stuff today, Observations so far are - Engine seems to run cooler, Seems to use only slightly more fuel, and by the seat of the pants-o-meter, More low / mid range torque...

Hang on!!!

I know of one reputable tuner in Sydney that did a study running the Optimax 100 Extreme.

Used to be a site sponsor...something Tech Engineering. The results were highly in favour of the Ethanol blend fuel.

brandon, there was a link posted on here with results from a university in australia somewhere testing a heap of higher octane fuels when ethanol was first released publicly early last year.

the test included ultimate, synergy 8000, boost 98 abd race fuels such as elf.

if anybody knows the one could they please help with a link? it had all the info needed and was a great read. was in PDF format and was about 10 pages long.

to sum it up they basically said for the price the boost 98 had the best power figures for a pump fuel. all this was tested on a WRX on dyno.

Yeah that was MRT performance fuel survey or something like that. I have read though it, and it states that Ethanol blended is the good :stirthepot:

Mine seems to run ALOT better on the stuff. Just gota get the injectors in and a good tune....
