We have just had a United Petroleum servo open up that sells "Boost 98" here in Mildura. What results are tuners seeing with the use these fuels as opposed to the likes of Ultimate 98 and Optimax?I have read only recently that the results are quite good. So tuners, what's this stuff REALLY like? Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/24451-tuners-opinions-on-ethanol-blend-fuels/ Share on other sites

Not just a little bit either! It never pings on Synergy or Ultimate.Geea had the problem with sludge in his fuel system from leaving the fuel in the tank for a couple of weeks too. And it gained 22rwkw, with no other mods, same boost ect... However he did state in the article that cars already tuned close to the edge will run LEANER by just adding to the tank. I think I'm going to use this stuff when mine is re-tuned in a couple of weeks. See how it goes.Got any more data Street Tuner?? I think I'm going to use this stuff when mine is re-tuned in a couple of weeks. See how it goes. Are you sure he said leaner? As ethanol or alcohol blended fuels have more oxygen content(since the extra OH strand) which means they carry their own oxygen into the combustion process meaning that AFR's will be richer.I have tuned a VY ute on Ulitimate and then did a retune on Optimax Extreme 5% Ethanol blend and what do you know there was no significant torque increase at any point in the rev range. It did however send the O2 sensors a little off though. Now this isn't to say that the fuel wont work on all cars and IMO I believe that the ethanol blended fuels will benefit forced induction cars as the density of the charge is far more important than in naturally aspired cars and we all know how good the cooling capacity of alcohol. I will be doing some dyno testing on the bosses car (LOK11) in the coming weeks on the benefits of ethanol blends and will post the results. The difference is very noticeable. After 3 or 4 tank fulls it just got better. As I'm selling the car now I've had it sitting in the shed for 4 weeks just so as not to put too many kms on her, started it up a couple of times to make sure everything was ok. Today I started it up again for a drive down the GOR. NO problems at all, runs smooth as silk. Much better than the BP Ultimate. rob82 said: Now this isn't to say that the fuel wont work on all cars and IMO I believe that the ethanol blended fuels will benefit forced induction cars as the density of the charge is far more important than in naturally aspired cars and we all know how good the cooling capacity of alcohol.
