some mods but the dealer was aware of these, the issue with ford is that they arnt looking properly to see if there is a problem with thier manufacture and are just f*cking around so much so that u just walk away, I never ever said it was fords problem or fault but again I havent said its mine either, both kewish and the ford tech have never seen a box so trashed at my power level. Ford said to me on the phone they wouldnt cover it because it was driver abuse, then they said it was because of the mods but WONT supply anything in writing. They said they based there decision on what they had read in these forums. (again wont say that in writing). By the way all I asked for was the dealer to tell me what went wrong and if it was my fault. Then and only then would a waranty claim be lodged if they/I deemed it to be fords problem. O yeah the NEW gear set that ION supplied was f*cked as well, resulting in another week and a bit off the road. I have been told (by ford) that they will/can refuse warranty on mods such as an air filter alone. Im pissed off at ford because they refuse to put the reasons why the claim was/is being refused in writing, it stinks of deception on thier part.

After going back though other threads that you have stated you have edit and an intercooler at least.

Ford or ion are well with in there rights to say no warranty piont blank as the car is tuned far in excess of the standard tune which automatically voids warranty so to even ask if there is a chance of warranty is a bit strange.

That sucks big time. From what you've said, you've gone into it with the right attitude but they've been proper ar$eholes.

What mods did you have?

***Edit*** Ian apparently was posting at the same time. Edit + intercooler - they're gonna wipe you straight off. I guess it's a lesson to others. If you're going to do mods, be prepared to accept the consequences. I do understand where you're coming from - your power level and the level of damage suggests that the box was faulty in the first place - but I also can see the manufacturer's POV. You're outside of spec and have no claim.

I just found out he has edit and an intercooler at least so no wonder ford did not want to have anything to do with it.

not within thier rights if it failed due to a manufacturing fault and not due to the mods. I said to ford from day dot, I will pay if its my fault. So clearly no deception on my part. But thier refusal to supply info regarding the claim is a little deceptive. By the way, the gear set was completely shattered, there would be a lot more stress on my box from the 1600kg trailer I tow than the 8psi edit that gets flashed when the yoot is empty. Im more than happy to accept the cost if its my fault but I refuse to accept (via a phone call from some chick in melbourne) that because of whats written in this forum, they will knock it back.

If you readther warranty in the hand book it tells you that they will not warrant the drive train if it has been modified so weather it was from the mods or not does not matter there is no warranty.

hand book aint worth sh*t, its stat law that is the defining factor here and as I first said it was knocked back on driver abuse not mods. Under stat law it must be proven that the mods were a contributing factor. BY THE WAY, THE MOD'S THEY WERE FIRST REFERING TOO WHEN THEY RANG THE SECOND TIME WAS THAT IT HAD NON STD WHEELS, TYRES AND IT WAS LOWERED. I will say it again, give it to me in writing, not via a phone call. that's my complaint
