What would having non standard wheels and lowered affect??

dont know, this is why I questioned the validity of the refusal by ION not ford. They then came back with "it has a twin exhaust" I said so, all xrt's have twin pipes and the response was o, do they im only passing what I have been told. Again I HAVE paid to have the box fixed but ford have not supplied in writing the refusal of the claim. and refuse to do so.

How does Ford know that Turtle33 = car rego no etc etc?

That is the BIG question as far as I'm concerned!

This is the reason that I prefer number plates, full names and phone numbers are left off the site. It just makes it to easy for them.

My number 1 pet hate is warranty stooges but it's not fair when innocent people are getting denied warranty because they posted that they did a burnout or something like that. But on the other hand there are people that are deliberately trying to decieve Ford, so they (Ford) are only trying to protect themselves.

At the end of the day it's not soemthing we can stop happening. Everyone just needs to be more selective with what they post.

Is that a reference to my post or to Ford in general??

I was getting at the trans!

But in general Ford/Expensive Daewoo have a high failure rate compared to Jap/European cars!

Mainly due to third party suppliers in Oz!

take Borg Warner for example, how many diffs stuff up in the Ford & Expensive Daewoo vehicles???

If I may mention a few things from a couple of steps back of this........

Ford, obviously for cost reasons have designed components on the T, and no doubt all fords to operate at certain loads & power levels.... As soon as we start mucking around with a car and it impacts on these levels, why should they then warrant any equipment on the car that could be impacted ??

I'm not saying for 1 minute that the way turtle33 was treated is correct..... I'm just saying, as many others out there have said.... " you play, you pay " and that is exactly why I'm wary about doing anything non standard to my T.....

If Ford were really smart ( yeah right !! ) they would open up a Specialist tuner division to cater for all the personalisation that many customers no doubt would like to do anyway..... That way, mods could be performed within acceptable tolerance levels, and all would be happy..... oh well, never going to happen.......

No surprises to this and other threads..... suppliers will soon learn what mods are being done, and, you can be damn sure, warranties WILL be voided.... simple as that.....

it is true that they need to show that the modification caused the failure.... they cant just say that your wheels and lowering caused the failure of a gearbox.... or edit or intercooler for that matter...

GOLDIE.... they cant just knock it back because of a mod or mods... your wrong in saying that... it needs to directly contribute to the failure and shown that it did.... ford jsut knock people back due to mods because thay can, and they know that 99.9% of us will not have the funds/time to fight them..... and if they think we do they will shut you up and get you to sign a disclaimer (a bit like TRACK1 did).

we all have f/all chance to get anything out of them... even if your car is stock you have complain like a biatch to get anything... even then your told "sorry sir, this is normal for a performance car".... having mods just makes it easier for them to deny a claim and they use this to heir advantage.... simple really.

I suggest you all read your "Customer Assistance, Warranty and Service Guide" manual.

The Ford Vehicle Warranty will not apply to any defect in, or which is attributable to, or to the use of, any modification made to the vehicle.

I know for a fact that the police, some insurance companies, and even the EPA read car forums, and even take pictures/video at car shows and driving events.

Be careful - if you have any mods which may be questionable hide your number plates.

 Only thing fitted to my T now is the airfilter, I almost wish I'd not paid for the extra warranty, then I'd be playing with the car now, instead of trying to sell it. If ION is in receivership forget getting ANYTHING out of them without a fight. Accountants who perform that kind of work are tighter than a fossilized anchovie's ar$ehole.
