Good stuff Jack! :spoton:

There is nothing like that first drive after they've finished the tuning.

Well done mate! :spoton:

Tranny may need some strengthening if you drive it hard.

Yeah you are right there Brian... problem is that I have the most lusted after box there is... the venerable T5... so I'm trying to be really nice to it... it's just so hard...

I saw your car today and it's looking good... 3 times the power of mine... but we all have to start somewhere...

Jack :spoton:

Go as easy as you want but the T5 is as good as gone, trust me.

Don't stuff around start getting a quote of Mal he will give you the right ratio's to suit your diff.

yeah mate, start saving for the T56 conversion... that's what I am doing! I have gearbox whine already, and I dont even belt my car or drive it overly hard! I don't let it labour either.

My Kpa sits around 190. And reading off my boost gauge, has around 13.5 to 14 psi.

Great result there mate!! With all my mods, my car managed 260rwkw (dyno reads a little low too), however my spark plugs were breaking down under load! been gapped to .75 now, and the edit box is back with Simon to tweak it some more!! Can't wait!

Again, great results! I can totally understand where you are coming from, its the best ever feeling! especially when you break traction at 3000rpm in first and second gear and leave the HSVs for dead! :msm:

Just respect it.... I've had a couple of instances now where the car has decided to try and let go when I have given a little boot... and that's in the dry!! :spoton:

Great to see another happy driver :spoton:

Too right Jimmy and Adam... how awesome is it!!!

Here is the dyno graph's... couldn't get the camera to work at my mates place last night so I have come home to use my own camera...

Gotta be happy with the result Jack, looks like a nice graph too. Initally I was thinking about an edit and custom tune like your self but was thinking of keeping boost down around 10psi or below and aiming for a 40rwkw improvement over stock on 95 ron (if that's achievable???????). Only other mods I was thinking were trans cooler and CAI with the aim of looking after the engine and driveline rather than chasing outright power.

But hearing stories of stock T's chucking rods has me worried plus the fact I'll be throwing away 32 months warranty. I just got back from a holiday in Queensland so I'm outa cash at the minute anyway. I'll proably wait till the car's 12 months old and has "worn in" a bit to see if any issues arise the re asses things.

What was your initial aim when you went into this? I mean did you let them drag as much power out of it as they safely could or did you give them guidelines you wanted them to stick with in relation to boost, AFR's ect?

Good one Jack you have done very well.I believe you should leave the tuning to the tuners, giving a good tuner guide lines on what AFR's to run seems a little strange to me as that's the reason your paying them ,for there expertise.

I didn't really have any set plans for the tune, other than for it to be safe... that is why I didn't run an octane booster or anything like that, just the same fuel I will always run and that is BP Ultimate 98... the boys at Nizpro did say that the car is a bit of a freak power wise, I was honestly hoping for something around 255rwkw, so by that reckoning this well and truely exceeded even my wildest dreams... and it is absolutely awesome to drive, just so much fun!!

Jack,

It sounds like you are on the right track with your thinking there, safe and conservative will help things last in the long run. You may loose a small amount of power but the reliability that you gain in return is worth it.

At the end of the day some tuners claim this or that power figure, but its the drivability and reliability that matters to people who love their cars and want a nice daily driver.

Congratulations on your result and keep us informed on your next stages down the modification path.

Cheers,

Kris
