What is the problem with spacers? Why are they illegal? Falcoon, where did you get hubs etc from in that picture? I only need the fronts as the backs fit fine....Grrrrr. I've already bought new rubber etc for them aswell as my 18's are dead....

Cheers

I've had 8 mm spacers on my wheels and for safety purposes providing you can get 5 turns on the thread there won't be an issue. I had about 8 from memory.

Can't comment on the legality side of things but then again everythings illegal in WA so I gave up worrying about it along time ago.

Hey cdm...

What do the 19's look like? I might swap you my 20's which fit over standard brakes with NO guard mods at all... I'm in Melbourne too... can you post a pic?

Chris,

Those spacers pictured are 25mm thick, and a way to thick. They will cause you all sorts of guard clearance problems. The upside of those spacers are they are legal cause they attach to the disc hub and then provide another set of studs to mount the wheels to. But like I said they are too wide. Go with the min thickness required.

Robin.

I dont know about the 5 turns rule. but for a thread to reach maximum holding capacity you need to have the same thread contact as the thread diameter. ie 1/2" or 13mm of thread in the nut on a half inch/13mm wheel stud....

my 2c's
